Shop Here Program

(Pictou County, NS) –  Retailers in Pictou County are invited to apply to the Shop Here Pictou County program, a joint initiative between the Pictou County Chamber of Commerce and the Pictou County Regional Enterprise Network (PCREN).

The Shop Here Pictou County Program will provide successful applicants a feature space at pictoucounty.com, access to a series of digital marketing workshops, support for product photography, and Pictou County branded online and in print promotional materials. PictouCounty.com, managed by the PCREN, is a website currently undergoing significant development to be used as a “community” site featuring live here, work here, play here, shop here and do business here information.

“We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has had significant impacts on our small businesses,” said Jack Kyte, Executive Director of the Pictou Chamber. “The Shop Here Pictou County Program will provide an online space to collectively market the great products and stores in Pictou County, while providing workshops to increase the knowledge of digital marketing among our small business owners. Joining the efforts to support the work already underway at the PCREN through the pictoucounty.com site is a win-win for everyone.”

The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce, through the Shop Local Funding Initiative, is providing the Pictou County Chamber of Commerce with a non-repayable contribution of $40,000 to support the Shop Here Pictou County program.

“The Pictou County Chamber of Commerce is a great partner of the PCREN. We are thrilled to jointly partner on this initiative to support our business community,” said Heidi Sinclair, Interim CEO, PCREN.

"The past year and a half has highlighted the benefits of digital marketing and being online. We hope that this collective website will be an online gateway into our community providing an alternative means to find and connect with local retailers regardless if you are in Pictou County or around the world.”

Applications can be found at pictoucounty.com. Deadline is October 28th at 4 p.m.
